Construction Foreman

Greenhouse Construction

This position is a working supervisor role and applicants will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Reading and executing construction plans (Foundation layout and build)

  • Actively working, supervising, and directing construction projects (with up to 10 workers)

  • Reporting, managing and documenting jobs for quality, efficiency and on time completion

  • Engagement in and management of safety program

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years of physical construction experience

  • Understanding of turnkey construction process, tools and some equipment

  • Excellent time and project management skills

  • Multi-state travel required (travel expenses covered by company)

  • Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license

  • Experience and ability to interact with Stakeholders and other trades

Job Purpose

Greenhouse System Installers will travel throughout the Midwest to assemble and install greenhouse systems (including pre-engineered greenhouse structure, glazing systems, heating and cooling systems, growing systems, shade systems, and irrigation). Projects include varying sizes of commercial greenhouses in the wholesale nursery and commercial food production facilities.

Job Duties

  • Read and interpret pre-engineered building drawings (blue prints)

  • Determine the materials required and plan the sequence of tasks

  • Prepare material prior to assembly

  • Hoisting and guiding components into place

  • Working from mobile elevated work platforms (scissor lifts)

  • Install pre-engineered structure to manufacturer specifications

  • Install glazing system

  • Install heating and cooling systems, to include installation of evaporative cooling systems and exhaust fans

  • Install growing systems

  • Install shade systems

  • Complete housekeeping duties as required

  • Comply with all Jackson AgroBuilders health and safety policies and procedures, and local government health safety regulations

  • Committed to traveling throughout the Midwest United States for extended periods of time

  • Providing assistance to the site supervisors as needed

  • Operation of a variety of equipment may be required while adhering to all company safety procedures and practices

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours outdoors in a variety of climates, exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles

  • Ability to travel overnight and stays for an extended period of time

  • Standing and walking frequently; use of hands, hand tools and controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing and balancing; stooping, kneeling, and crouching

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • 2 years experience in construction related industry

  • OSHA 10 hour training and/or equipment operation certification a plus
